Since little new language is introduced in the
checkpoint, the activities on pages 37 to 41 of the Talk Russian book are
ideal for assessment purposes, revision and / or extension of vocabulary, grammar and
cultural information.
- Activities 1 and 2 can be used to assess listening skills in the context of personal
identification.
-
- Activities 4 and 5 can be used as reading practice. Learners could be recorded on
cassette as evidence of competence in the Russian alphabet.
-
- Activity 10 could be used as a model for learners to give a simple, short description of
themselves which could be recorded on cassette as evidence of speaking competence.
The following is an additional assessment activity for groups.
You'll need to photocopy the worksheet and give everyone a
copy. The instructions are self-explanatory. Instead of asking people to talk about
themselves, you might prefer to prepare a set of information cards with fictitious
identities for them, e.g.
Name: Tim Miles;
Nationality: Canadian;
Family: married, 1 son Adam, 1 sister Tina;
Tel No. 530796. |
