This is an appropriate point to review and / or assess progress and the activities on pages 67 to 70 of Talk German are designed for this purpose.

Many of the activities can be used for extension work:

Working in twos or threes to produce crosswords as in activity 2, for others to solve.

Using the map in activity 6 to give directions.

Brainstorming 'real' information about local places, e.g. department store - opening hours, rest day, what's to be found on each floor', supermarket hours, etc.

Using the letter in activity 9 as a model for learners to express their own working day.

At this stage, learners also have enough German to make up simple but interesting role plays for getting directions, asking about places or shopping.
